46th Annual Gothia Cup – The world’s largest and most international youth tournament in the world – considered hands down the best by most – hosting over 1,700 teams from more than 80 nations. Since starting in 1975, nearly a million players from 146 countries have participated. There will be 4,500 matches played on 110 fields. The Opening Ceremony is world-renowned for its Olympics-style pageantry in front of a live audience of more than 60 thousand fans and participants.

The Gothia Cup has grown massively throughout the years since the first tournament in 1975. Each year, around 1,700 teams from 80 different nations take part in the international soccer tournament and play over 4,500 games are played on over 100 pitches throughout Gothenburg.
The opening ceremony of the Gothia Cup at Ullevi Stadium attracts over 50,000 spectators and international soccer participants. Over 1,100 people volunteer every year in order to make this tournament truly special for all of the participants. After all, it isn’t nicknamed the youth world cup for nothing! First-class international soccer competition and on world class soccer fields is only part are only part of what the Gothia Cup has to offer.
Located on the beautiful western coast of Sweden, Gothenburg has all the excitement of a major seaport city, including fine beaches, water sports, boat trips, shopping and dining, making it a great travel destination for youth soccer teams.
